A simple worksheet based activity where students are directed to produce a health and safety poster. This can be done independently and can be used as a cover lesson or following a health and safety workshop induction/ as a homework task. This resource includes common safety rules within Design & Technology and images to help inspire the aesthetics in the poster. By creating a workshop safety poster students become aware of rules, showing with clear evidence that they have been taught these. This helps to safeguard the teacher should an accusation be made that safety rules weren’t covered.

GCSE Design & Technology NEA guide

(0)
A guide to help students independently navigate the expectations of the GSCE Design & Technology GCSE (based on the AQA criteria). The guide includes what to do on specific slides including exam board criteria and teacher explanations throughout. This guide is generic for any NEA topic and can be used at any stage within KS4 D&T. This resource has been developed over a number of years by an experienced HOD with fantastic outcomes, always well over the national average. We begin using it in year 9 to aid students in their understanding of expectations whilst the teacher is allowed to give specific feedback and guidance. By the time the students reach Year 11 they are well versed in expectations and are able to produce extremely high quality work as a result. This comes in Powerpoint and PDF format and once downloaded can be tailored to your setting/ needs easily. This resource would be perfect for anybody starting out the AQA Design & Technology GCSE and not knowling where to start, any non specialist teachers which have been given a GCSE D&T to take over due to unforseen absence or anybody that is looking to support their students in their independent undertaking of their NEA task. I hope it will be as helpful to you as it is out students.
